How often is an EICR required?
For rental properties, an EICR is required at least every 5 years, or at every change of tenancy.
What happens if remedial work is needed?
Any C1 (danger present) or C2 (potentially dangerous) issues must be remediated within 28 days of the report.
Do I need to provide the EICR to tenants?
Yes, landlords must provide a copy of the EICR to existing tenants within 28 days of the inspection.
